DISWASHERS WITH SPRAY ARMS

A new breed of dishwashers is presently dominating the market LETS refer to these as type-B dishwashers. You'll recognize a type-B by the absence of an open impeller at bottom of the tub. There will be a stainless-steel or plastic spray arm, perforated with Jet nozzles.
Water is directed from a high-speed, high-efficiency pump into the dishwasher tub, making it revolve and direct its water jets to every inch of the tub. Some deluxe dishwashers use two arms or a spray tube and rack to accomplish two-level washing. The dishwasher motor turns in low direction to force water through the spray arms, and reverses to holes in the drain. This procedure for the dishwasher motor is much like that for type-A except that there is only one motor and there may be an operated relay rather than a centrifugal starting switch. It also is reversible, and if this is the case, there will be four motor brushes. Heater maintains water temperature and usually provides heat drying. Many motels have a small squirrel-cage blower under the access panel to circulate the tub during the dishwasher dry cycle. Overflow switch provides a safety shut-off for the inlet valve. A built-in air gap is always a required of tub water back into the fresh-water line in case drop. When locks the door and activates the door safety switches of the controls and dishwasher functions. A water temperature sensing dishwasher motor operation during sanitizing rinse cycle only, stopping timer when raised water to 150 degrees in most machines. Detergent dispenser will allows detergent in each wash cycle, and wetting-agent dispenser during final rinse.  The electrical circuit shown by the broken-dash line is, a grounded conductor which connects to each operating load volt appliance and which serves to complete the circuit back to the power is not to be confused with the bonding conductor, a grounded lead component and the frame of an appliance to ground through the middle of a polarized line cord. The bonding conductor is a safety device and a middle of the electrical circuit, while the neutral is. A neutral line should not be broken by a switch at any time. Circuit drawn with a heavy line is the master circuit, providing the power boot the AC plug, through the door safety switch to the timer it feeds all other operating circuits of the dishwasher. The door must be shut before the dishwasher will function. Connecting line is initiated from the timer to operate dishwasher motor. Motors have four leads, usually with external relay. Direction of rotation would be determined by the timer contacts usually operating during wash, rinse. When the timer reaches the final rinse cycle, the timer motor stops have raised temperature to a predetermined level (around 150 degrees). This is usually one to two degrees per minute. Prolonged delay is an indication that, waiter supply to dishwasher is too cool. Since water flow rate through inlet valve is constant elapsed time of fill cycle determines the amount of the water that enters machine. Overflow switch shuts off inlet valve in the event of overflow due to abnormally high water pressure (over 100 psi) or timer malfunction which is actuated by timer during wash cycle. Most dishwashers empty dispenser when door is shut at beginning of wash, uncover other side and solenoid is energized by timer during second wash period. Such are "one-shot" dispensers they must be filled as a part of your routine for the dishwasher. With side panel removed from this dishwasher, a continuity check is made through the timer contacts. Model has a remotely mounted timer with rapid advance drive. Power must be turned off before panels are removed. Use R x 1 scale for testing contacts, R x 100 to test timer motor(s). Contacts of overflow prevention are tested from front of this dishwasher. If float is raised by weight with a piece of cardboard, contact should open to shut off water flow, With switch in normal position, the contacts should indicate resistance with VOM in R x 1 position. Siphon break and other components are accessible after the dishwasher is pulled away from the cabinet. If wooden trim panels are installed, the tension must be increased to compensate for the extra weight. Defective components were spotted by this test. Resistance reading on R x 1 scale between contacts in timer indicated a fault. High resistance in switch contacts drops voltage to component, soon permanently damages contact it. Cleaning contacts restored continuity to the timer. Cover plate is removed to expose contact. Probes are attached to the same contacts which previously inn, sated resistance. The door of a dishwasher holds many operating components. The selector switch is found in upper panel and rinse additive and delve gent dispensers mount to inner door panel. Whirlpool dishwasher dispenser is operating through action of bimetal arm. Door-latching mechanism is arranged so that latch from cabinet must be in position before lever will actuate safety switch. Examination of linkage with panel removed will often reveal necessary adjustment
